UMass Dartmouth Library Archivist Judy Farrar, in conjuction with Cindy Yoken of the Center for Jewish Culture, recently compiled a historical booklet on the Jewish Community of New Bedford. The printing of the booklet entitled “Historical Tour of Jewish New Bedford,” was funded with a grant from the United Way Greater New Bedford Community Building Mini Grant program.

Recent gifts to the Archives of the Center for Jewish Culture include records of the Jewish War Veterans’ Fall River Ladies’ Auxiliary from Lorraine Kaplan, numerous items on Tifereth Israel Sisterhood and the Israel Bond Drive from Barbara Gotlib, and records of the Jewish War Veterans’ Fall River Post from David Rosenfield.
