UMD’s Carney library sees record use with expanded space

“Sunny, colorful and spacious, the revamped Claire T. Carney Library at UMass Dartmouth has been drawing record numbers of students.

“It’s a big improvement,” said sophomore Erin Curtin, 19, at the library Monday afternoon. “I’ve been to the library a lot more since they expanded it.”

“The numbers have certainly exceeded expectations,” said Terrance Burton, Dean of Library Services, during a brief tour of the five-floor facility covering about 185,000 square feet”.
