Barnes and Noble and the Claire T. Carney Library Associates proudly present a lecture featuring the Pulitzer Prize winner for the novel, The Orphan Master’s Son, Adam Johnson. The lecture will take place at Barnes and Noble located at the Dartmouth Town Center at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, November 11th 2015.
Dr. Johnson was born in South Dakota and raised in Arizona. He received his BA in journalism from Arizona State University, his MFA from the writing program at McNeese State University and his PhD in English from Florida State University. He is a San Francisco writer and an associate professor of creative writing at Stanford University.
Adam Johnson is also the author of a collection of short stories entitled Emporium and a novel entitled Parasites Like Us for which he received the California Book Award in 2003. He has published articles in Esquire, Harper’s Magazine, Tin House and The Paris Review.
Besides receiving a Pulitzer Prize and the California Book award, Dr. Johnson has also been awarded a Whiting award, a Kingsbury Fellowship and a Stegner Fellowship. He was named the Debut Writer of the Year in 2002.
